With its roots dating back to a single store in Leeds in 1864, Next Retail is now one of the UK’s most recognisable fashion, homeware and beauty brands, with around 500 stores in the UK & Eire and over 6 million UK online customers. It is supported through eight UK warehouses, seven UK depots and two international hubs, plus it has its own call centres providing customer service operations for retail, online and NEXT Finance.
One such Next Retail call centre in Leicester, which is also home to offices and a staff shop, has benefitted from a new Imax Xtra 2 200kW condensing boiler from Ideal Heating commercial products. The Imax Xtra 2 replaces the existing boiler in the building – its predecessor, the IMAX Plus 3 - which had come to the end of its working life.
The Imax Xtra 2 range of condensing boilers is offered in six models with outputs from 80 to 280kW. All models have a NOx Class 6 rating (offering 1 BREEAM point where applicable) and can operate up to 30°C ΔT. Imax Xtra 2 features a touchscreen control interface, backed by advanced software that offers exceptional flexibility. It is compact in size, with a small footprint, so can readily fit through standard doorways.
Although at the Next Retail site the Imax Xtra 2 has been used as a standalone boiler, it can be installed in a cascade of up to four boilers producing outputs up to 1120kW, made all the easier with Ideal’s Header kits.
The Imax Xtra 2 is available with a 5 year heat exchanger warranty, subject to terms and conditions. A 2 year parts and labour warranty comes as standard.
Ideal boilers: the preferred choice
The installation of the Imax Xtra 2 was carried out by Leicestershire based Building & Maintenance Services Limited (BMS), a leading provider of all types of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, electrical and mechanical services, and preventative maintenance.
BMS purchased the boiler through Leicester merchant Pochin, which liaised with Ideal Heating on the specification and quote. Paul Warden, Trade Sales Advisor at Pochin comments:
“Working independently, we work with customer specifications and tender accordingly. BMS have been a customer with myself over many years and have been installers of Ideal commercial products through the years. The required Imax Xtra 2 boilers for the Next installation were requested by BMS so contact was made with Ideal who kindly put together a specification for the site and the quote was then submitted.”
Commenting on his choice of the Imax Xtra 2, Paul Williams, Contracts Engineer at BMS, said:
“I prefer Ideal boilers over most appliances and have fitted Ideal appliances when retrofitting plantroom. I have previously installed Evomax Boilers on frames with header kits for Highways England, Canal & River Trust, Ellesmere Port Boat Museum, Cemex and many more.”
For Paul, it’s not only the product that matters, but also the support he receives:
“I’m happy with the service from Ideal, although this is the first time I have asked for a commissioning from Ideal rather than myself carrying the commissioning.”
Paul is pleased with his discovery of the free commissioning and will use this service on future installations.
Paul Warden very much agrees with this sentiment:
“Ideal products have been giving reliable service over many years which is recognised by customers who will be offered the latest Ideal Heating commercial range when replacement boilers are required. The reliability is backed up with a good range of products being offered with Ideal usually having a good availability of items to fulfil orders. Recently we have seen customers who install commercial boilers move to Ideal due to changes to other manufacturers’ ranges not to their liking.”
