We are pleased to announce that Ideal Commercial Heating has further strengthened the external sales team with the appointment of Kirsty Smyth as Business Development Manager, covering South West London and South Central.
Kirsty brings with her a wealth of experience built over a varied and progressive career in the heating and building services sector.
Explaining what attracted her to the role, Kirsty said that Ideal Commercial Heating is “a trusted name for decades, yet continues to invest in modern, smart, and low carbon technologies,” adding that the business has “a great product range and an established commercial heating brand within the industry.”
In her current role, Kirsty is responsible for managing a portfolio of customers across her region, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities where she can add value.
No two days are ever the same. Kirsty’s role typically involves regular conversations with customers to understand their technical requirements, preparing detailed quotations, and explaining product features in a clear and accessible way. She also spends time on site with installers, helping to ensure the most appropriate product selection for each project.
For Kirsty, the most rewarding aspect of the role is the opportunity to build lasting relationships. “I enjoy understanding a customer’s needs, earning their trust, and becoming the person they rely on for solutions,” she says.
Reflecting on her career so far, Kirsty highlights that this is one of the most exciting periods in our industry in helping our customers understand what the future of sustainable commercial heating looks like.
Looking to the wider industry, Kirsty believes that greater investment in training and skills for engineers and installers will be essential for the future. “As systems become more complex and low carbon solutions grow, having a highly skilled workforce is essential for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable solutions,” she states.
